Reply: OPEN LETTER TO A DELHI BOY - From an Indian Boy

Last week I got link to blog post "Open Letter to Delhi boy" from one of my colleague in which some south Indian girl has written so much bad things about Delhi Boy and his Punjabi Family. Later some Delhi guy posted on his blog defending himself as good Delhi Boy. Also some other guy or girl posted this against Madrasi Girls post. There may be many more posts like these last week some one told this as racism, some one thinks frustration of guy or girl and there are tons of comments on the original post supporting or not supporting her post.

I want to bring down few things for everyone, whether they are South Indian or North Indian or from Delhi or from Chennai or Punjabi or Madrasi. Stop separation of people based on their location, color or caste. India is one country and we all are just Indian and nothing else and leave this separation limited to politicians.

It is fact that, India is one of the big countries and has many regions based on language people speak, community & caste of people. Each of them have their own strengths and weaknesses, good and evil in them. When you move to some new location why do you look at evil or bad part of it? If you want to highlight weaknesses of people staying in any region from where you doesn't belong to then why do you go there? Why do you highlight on one region speaks better English than another? None of us speak better English then Britishers. Why do you want fight on language which is not at all yours? Why do you want to fight on which kind of cloths a guy or girl is wearing? That is his/his personal choice.

If you go to any part of the world (not just South India or North India) you will be defiantly able to find few people who are racist, oppressor of women or any kind of criminals. All of us should just neglect them and start searching for good things and good people around.

Sorry to everyone if my English is not as good as yours. Also I don't have much time to write big post like others.

Finally, I am an Indian and proud to be Indian and I like all the places and people of India.

Yours,
Indian Boy

Lots Fun with Secret Santa and Santa Leaks :-)

This we had a game in the office called Secret Santa. In this every one picks up a cheat and the name written in the cheat would become Banta and the one who picked up the cheat becomes the Santa for that person. Now the game begins. Santa can give any number hints and gifts to his/her Banta secretly and Banta need to guess his/her Santa.Santa may secretly inquires what his/her Banta wants and gift that thing.

The game itself has lot of fun, still to add more fun to it one of our team mate Vishnu Bobba invented SantaLeaks similar to WikiLeaks. Where any one can leak hints to Banta to help finding his/her Santa.Vishnu invented this to find his Santa, but the that we spread across the company to add more fun for everyone in the game and make the game more enjoyable. Soon there are lot of spam entries started then we started recording source addresses and displaying them. But that would make difficult for the one who want to put some real hints over there. So on public demand Vishnu made them hidden and keep it with us for record and just adding warning that we are recording sources and will revel spammer at the end of the game. And fun started once again, people started adding lots of funny hints like "Your Santa has 2 hands and 2 hands :-)", "Stand up on the desk and see your Santa" etc.

The fun doesn't end with this, people getting gifted some funny things like "Onion", "Apple", "Chilly", "Potato", "Tiny Toy Car" etc. Also many people started misguiding Bantas in the wrong direction so that they can not identify their real Santa. I was also one of them who started misguiding many people. I know who are the Santa of our team mates but kept misguiding them to the wrong Santa and had a lot of fun :-)

After launching the SantaLeaks the next day Vishnu's Santa started harassing him by continuously hacking his SantaLeaks and adding some funny things to it. We also helped Vishnu to come out of the hack and keep SantaLeaks running. Still StantaLeaks become so famous in the entire company such that it got 7000+ hits from 200 people in just 4 days. I also gave hint to Vishnu that the hacker of your SantaLeaks is your Santa.Still he was confused about his Santa, since I was also misguiding him to wrong Santa.

During this fun I got first hint sent by Santa that he is very busy person may be she? from Vijay. I got it that he/she is very senior level person only 4-5 choices left. Now in some time when I went out with my team mates Santa lefts few gifts to me with 2 more hints. Gifts were very nice  a Parker pen, a good luck locket, and a five star chocolate one of my favorite thing :-) I like chocolate very much. And the last 2 hint were very easily points out to our MD Mr. Ramesh, I went to him and thanked him and told that he is my Santa. But he still wants to misguide me that he is not the one like I was doing to others. But I was so sure he told me he is the one and asked me how do I recognized him. I explained the him the same thing. Finally, Vishnu also somehow managed to identify his Santa.

All of us had great fun with Secret Santa and SantaLeaks entire week:-) until the results of actual Santa were reveled on the last day

Back to this blog after long time - My UPs and DOWNs

I have stared this blog in 2006, but after posting first post I have not posted any thing new about me on this blog. Though I kept updating my other blogs, I just forgotten about this blog.

Today, I was going through list of my blogs and I remembered that I have not posted updates about myself from long time. So I thought of updating this blog with brief summary of my 2 and half years journey. Here it goes...

As I have mentioned in my previous post I was working with Cyberwerx Software Solutions, Bangalore at that point of time.

that company I left at the end of July 2007 because of I was forced in boring work which I was not supposed to do. And I joined Nevis Networks India Pvt. Ltd. Pune. at Aug 2007. That was also again a great company with Networking products.

At Nevis also I enjoyed working about more than 1 and half year but because of their bad financial condition and less sales they have done pay cut for me which was 20% in Dec 2008. None of the company has done such a heavy pay cut. I was very disappointed by that and I cant decide what to do whether left this job and find other job in such a bad financial situation of IT industry.

I started applying for many companies online, got lot of interview call also I am able to clear the interview wherever I get the call but they wanted to exploit me by knowing I got pay cut so do not wanted to give me hike but they just try to match my original salary at that time.

But finally Nevis again took very bad step and planned layoff and of course my record I can not think of my name could be there. But there was some internal politics of management and because of that my name came in to picture. But the good part was that they give 2 months time. So finally I thought of going to take job in to any company which gives offer first.

And God come to help me and I got offer from BMC software, Pune with the package matching to my previous salary at Nevis after lot of negotiation about package. The work over there is not so good for me, since I was into core development in proctucts and here I need to do level 3 support kind of work.

Then I got offer from LSI Logic, Pune which was also quite similar to offer at BMC only. But here also I need to do new begining with embed system where I was best into java development.

Finally my frined Geet refered me to the company Progress Software Corporation, Hyderabad. And I was able to clear everything over there within a week and at the last week of Feb 2009 I got the offer which was quite higher then all others and work was also in to core Java Product development my favaurite. I just grab this offer and went to hyderabad on March 2009 and Joined Progress Software Corporation.

Today it is more than a month of joinig the Progress Software Corporation. It is really great experience working over here. Here I got one level higher also.

I am currently working on Sonic ESB product of Progress Software Corporation.

Keep visiting this for more updates on me....
